My personal wellness journey began with yoga. I began practicing in 2007 and embarked on my 200hour Yoga Teacher Training in 2012.
Yoga led to exploring other movement modalities like ecstatic dance and eventually training in JourneyDance, an expressive dance through levels of emotion and being.
Wanting to meld scholarship with the wellness I discovered through movement practices like yoga and journey dance I attended the University of Califonia San Diego and created a specialized major in Storytelling combining anthropology, psychology, visual and fine arts, ethnic studies, and philosophy classes into my Storytelling Thesis and graduated in with a BA in the summer of 2017.
The summer after graduating and transitioning both my living space and a few friends I realized nack for making supportive spaces and began to explore how environment and space affect wellness by studying with the International Feng Shui School in fall 2017. I launched Nested Feng Shui the same year working with clients throughout the greater San Diego area.
Working with feng shui clients I began to notice a pattern of clients feeling really good after the work we had done, but after a month or two when I would check-in they would fall back into their same "stuck" energy. I realized this was because of the space that they had not shown me and we had not balanced, their digital spaces like their smartphone, tv's, and laptops. I started with my own digital spaces, seeing if I could use feng shui to make them more usable and than introduced small shifts to my clients. I also joined the Digital Wellness Collective to learn about the research about technology addiction, fatigue, and overwhelm and began to blend feng shui + digital wellness.
